Breaths

It is said that the no. of breathes we take on this earth is preordained. Papa was known as American Singh in Airforce. He used to do 50km walk and was national champion in 1958. I Think i have the year right, but will check it anyways. When he left Madras, his senior wrote him a letter saying, remember Mr. Singh we all have only a certain no. of breathes on this earth, so don't walk too much or too fast, otherwise u will waste them faster.

New Year

Wish all the best in coming year to all of you.
The last year has been very emotional (may be the right word for it). It has seen the maximum ups and downs. First came the eye opener that your perception of people was wrong and the confidence built over the years came crashing down, and suddenly one started questioning everything, decisions etc. Then the illness of parents and suddenly life is very scary with all its responsibilities.And my holiday where I totally switched off from everything.
And somehow I can't use the word Happy in wishing everyone with the year ending and beginning on a sad note. There are very few people like Bhua ji but why did she have to suffer so much in the end is beyond my understanding. So just wishing everyone health and happiness .

Another story

Nindi chacha ji rang up the other day and I rememvered another story of mine. He used to take me for swimming. One day I wouldn't come out of the pool. HE told me let play dum and told me to hold my nose and put my head under water. I never went to the pool again. I was teasing him sometime back that but for u i would have learnt swimming. He said what to do you refused to come out of it.
Another one harjit chacha ji would tell every time we met. Apparently they used to take me out so that they would get to drive the car. They must have banged it that day. It seems they bribed me with a lot of things so that I wouldn't tell papa. But the first thing I did on arriving home was tell papa. he said all that bribe didn't work.
