Mrs. Hari passed away yesterday. Brings back old memories. Yesterday only I had written about being invited by her for lunch. We learnt so many folk songs from her and it brought back memories of 472 sangat road.Everyone remembers the tall lady with bigi bindi. How we everyone used to get togther almost everyday and everyone in and out of each others houses like they were their oen. How times have changed. The area looks completely different now. New people have come in and old oones have left. passing of an older generation and advent of new and suddenly all the responsibilities are looming up wondering how will we ever cope. .........May God rest her soul in peace.

This one I have told many times but it has to be put on the blog. Mum was away to Malaysia at that time and Mrs . Hari our neighbour had called us for lunch. Vinu was very small I think it was when chindi chachaji got married, she was troubling and one of us I don't remember who called her an idiot and she started howling. To quieten her I managed to convince her that idiot meant very good girl. She was convinced and stopped crying. Few days later again while they wer bickering with each other , she told me Neeta, Bawa Gunna are dirty girls and both of us are idoit.
Joginder uncle, Grewal uncle's younger brother rang up from canada yesterday. His wife was suffering from cancer and passed away in July. According to him she is at peace and she went the way she wanted with her family by her side and at home. Which reminded dad of his way of taking things.
Seems he had taken him to sanwalka's when they used to live on Rani jhansi road,(must have been years ago) and uncle asked him what he would like to drink. His answer was 'akal noo jinda hi launa, koi hove'. (to lock your senses it can be any)

Paper
Just remembered dad telling me one day that he was sure babaji's electric shop was in hoshiarpur not jalandhar, because when there shortage of paper to practice his maths or notebooks were too expensive(during world war time I guess( he was given those empty bill books to practice his maths on. which also proves the fact that his business wrapped up because the bill books were empty. (may be not enough households in hoshiarpur with electricity in those days)
